Fuck Bank of America

Many of you know my foot was injured at work. Since being out of work for 2 weeks I didn't receive any paychecks to deposit into my checking account. I am waiting on Zurich insurance to provide me with my workman comp paperwork but they're taking their time in getting me that check.

Meanwhile my account went negative $20 on Thursday. Friday I saw this and was surprised that I wasn't assessed a $35 fee since Bank of America loves giving fees. After all, they're the #1 worst company for customer service ratings and yes the majority of their revenue taken in comes from fees assessed. The problem with any fees is that this happens mostly to poor Americans and not middle or upper class.

Any way back to my story about why you should have nothing to do with Bank of America. So because I'm waiting for my check from Zurich I am broke and missed a couple of days of work even after I was supposed to return because I have no gas. I ended up working 1 day for a few hours and my check Friday was $66 bucks. I deposited the check and my balance went from negative 28 to positive 37 approximately. I was happy and went to Taco Bell since Heather and I were starving and haven't been eating since we're broke. I also bought a pack of cigs and a 6 pack of beer lastnight since we haven't had beer in a while since we've been completely flat broke. Today (Saturday) I get home and check my balance to see if I have any money for gas so I can get to work on Monday and I see that my account is negative $20. I call Bank of America and ask WTF is going on and I'm told that the $35 overdraft fee was assessed on Friday, apparently right after I deposited my check but right before we got to Taco Bell. So now my account is negative and apparently was negative before the 3 transactions I did Friday. So now I am expecting 3 more $35 fees to hit my account Monday which will bring the balance from -$20 further negative to -$125.

I pleaded with the woman I spoke with which I believe was 'Vanessa' and informed her that I don't believe it's fair to trick me by showing a positive account so that I make purchases and then the next day take money out retroactively and make all those purchases I made when the funds were there overdraft my account. I shouldn't be too surprised because this is something that Bank of America has done to me in the past.

I informed Vanessa that this isn't fair and that all I want is the $35 fee reversed. That only means that Bank of America wouldn't get to earn a fee from me this day. Instead she refused to help like always and now I'm posting this warning on the front of Potspace.

There are many banks that exist, if you don't have one yet and are looking to open a checking account please do NOT open a Bank of America account! If you currently have a Bank of America account then you may want to close your account before this happens. Another trick they do is if your account goes negative because you have automatic transactions setup for example and you want to close your account to avoid further fees, they will refuse to close your account until you bring the account current. This means that for months you will be building fee after fee until they finally send you to collections. My advice is to definitely close your account BEFORE this happens to you.

I warned Bank of America that I would be letting everyone know about this problem I had with them. Now I don't know what to do but I do know that I will not be putting money back into my account and whichever collection agency buys the debt will be screwed because I aint paying the bill ever.

Unless you want to go broke paying fees avoid using Bank of America at all costs. I will never again use those pieces of shit. No matter how many times I would explain that I was injured and need help and explain how unfair it is to charge me more and more fees when they showed me an available balance prior to the purchases, they just continue to say because it's not a bank error they won't help. So I say fuck them!

Oh I almost forgot. As an incentive to take away a tiny fraction of their business, I am offering lifetime VIP accounts to anyone who can mail me proof that they have closed their Bank of America account as of reading this message. Tell anyone and everyone you know to be careful and to avoid Bank of America altogether if possible.
