Go anywhere in the world and you'll encounter the homeless. Certain locations may mask them or ship them some other place so that they don't have to deal with the homeless, but they are everywhere. I've been homeless. Maybe you've been too and can understand that these homeless people don't prefer to be homeless. 

If you were to ask a homeless person whether or not they want to live on the street looking for a place to sleep and begging in order to have food to survive or have a job where they can have their own place and buy their own food and perhaps other things like clothes and a car. Well ill bet they'd prefer the latter. 

This is why I think that the police should start recruiting homeless people. Many homeless people would choose not to be if they could choose otherwise, but how do they get from being homeless to being employed long enough to establish having a home? 

I think the answer may be that the police who are often looking for new candidates, consider the homeless. They usually would prefer working but either their disability or other reasons have kept them from securing a job.

What if we sheltered them? Trained them to become law enforcement officers? They already have experience with the streets. If these people could work and be able to provide for themselves and protect the neighborhoods they're close to, I'm sure many would do just that.
